Day 1:
Old Town + Sunset Coast
Start in Zadar Old Town, which sits on a peninsula surrounded by Roman ruins and sea walls.
Morning
- Walk through the Old Town gates and explore:
- Roman Forum ruins
- Church of St. Donatus (iconic round church)
- Climb the bell tower of the Cathedral of St. Anastasia for panoramic views
Afternoon
- Stroll the marble streets, grab lunch at a waterfront konoba (traditional tavern)
- Visit the Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun installations along the promenade
Evening
- This is Zadar’s signature moment: sunset at the Sea Organ. Alfred Hitchcock once called it the best sunset in the world.
- Dinner along the Riva waterfront
Day 2:
Islands or Beach Day
You’ve got two great directions depending on your style:
Option A: Island hopping
- Take a boat to Ugljan or Pašman islands
- Swim in quiet coves, rent bikes or scooters
- Much slower, local vibe
Option B: Beach day in Zadar
- Head to Kolovare Beach (closest to city)
- Or Borik Beach for more space + water sports
Evening
- Return to Old Town for gelato + relaxed walk along the sea wall
- Optional: cocktail bars near the harbor
Day 3:
Nature Day Trip
Best choice is a full-day excursion:
Option A: Kornati Islands (boat tour)
- National park with dramatic limestone islands and clear water
- Swimming stops + boat lunch
- One of Croatia’s most unique seascapes
Option B: Krka National Park
- Waterfalls, swimming areas, and wooden walkways
- Easier access than Plitvice, closer to Zadar
Option C: Plitvice Lakes (longer drive but iconic)
- Unreal turquoise lakes and waterfalls
- Best if you’re willing to do a full day trip inland
